Research into Existing Artists
For our research, we decided to revolve it around Indie/Indie pop/rock artists. Rock/Pop are the main sub-genres within indie, as artists prefer to change their song themes.
We found Bastille as they are a very popular band within the UK, specifically through their single of 'Pompeii' - which is now on their album 'Bad Blood' from March 2013. This lead the album to being number one in the British charts for a total of 3 weeks (platinum award title), as well as having major success in other countries too. They were nominated for British Album of the Year at the 2014 BRIT Awards. This proves that indie pop/rock is in fact popular and successful within the target audience of the UK and other countries.

I then decided to research into their album cover of 'Bad Blood' to see how they applied the same conventions from their music videos, website and other promotional packages.
Artist Two
I then chose to research into how indie bands are advertised by others that they are no in control of, so I looked into how Q review magazine wrote about and indie Irish band called Kodaline. Instead of looking at a second promo piece, I analysed how the magazine complements the way they represent themselves.
Artist Three

Narrative from four different bands. By doing this we were able to find into different styles that artists created and how they were different but still indie. This also allowed us have a bigger knowledge of the types of narratives to influence our final narrative in our music video.
LEADING EDGE - INDIE SCENCESTERS
"Spending hours trawling through records, Indie Scenesters have their fingers on the pulse on the current artists du jour…"
The prezi below shows how we feel that indie scenesters (and young alternatives) match our chosen genre
Questionnaire
We then created a questionnaire that would develop a better understanding of our target audience. We would learn about their music habits and preferences in music, allowing us to obtain information that we can use in our production.

| Above is the pictures we imagine when we think of indie music videos and indie people in general. |

Why They Suit Our Target Audience
We feel that the band Wasters really complement our target audience as they match the criteria that a indie teenager will look for. The main reason being they're less known and their songs aren't listened to widely. Yet they do have social media to interact with listeners and thus build a larger number of fans, which teenagers now use a lot to explore into new bands and talk about ones they've found. The song itself suggests personal message which is quite dark - again, what indie teenagers really look for. By chosing this band we've allowed our music video to have a good foundation to build on, including the bands ways of interacting, their status and the song itself.
Initial Ideas
During planning, we came up with ideas that we thought we could incorporate into our production, including the narrative, character and props etc.
Below is the potential risks we may come across when recording our micro-production.
After highlighting the potential risks, we created a shooting plan for Sunday - the day we've planned to film.
